CEDRIC JACKSON II
Singer • Songwriter • Storyteller
One listening experience with Cedric Jackson, II, and it’s clear that it will be an elevating moment of transformation. His vocal prowess and authentic writing make him a welcome outlier in an industry whose sound has become homogenous and fans are yearning for more soul, purer R&B, and artists who sound more like themselves than each other. With music central to his life since childhood, a degree from the most prestigious music school in the world under his belt, and a rapidly increasing fan base, Cedric Jackson, II is poised to position himself as the next bourgeoning star male vocalist in the industry.
During his time at Berklee, he was a polarizing figure, in the best way, sharing his gifts in various capacities, as he matriculated. Cedric released debut single "We Run We Fall We Rise" in 2014, putting his degree in Professional Music, with concentrations in Songwriting and Music Therapy to good use. In 2016, he released his debut EP "Balance", to warm reception, and his music video for “You’ll Never Know,” which garnered over 40K views. Cedric also earned a coveted feature spot in Berklee’s Commencement Concert, where he honored the legendary vocalist, Lionel Richie, with an incredible performance of the classic song “Hello.” The video of this performance is taking social media by storm, surpassing 10k views on Facebook, and counting.
He finds his inspiration through legends such as The Temptations, Ray Charles, and Marvin Gaye. With lyrics often inspirationally driven, Cedric aims to bring together all areas of his background, Gospel, Classical, R&B, Hip Hop, and Jazz, to cultivate his own interpretation of Soul music today.
“Love Will Always Win,” a new and inspirational tune released on Berklee’s YouTube channel is expected to be included on his forthcoming project, which will diverge from the more produced sound we heard on “Balance” to feature a live band. The project yet to be titled strives for a more organic feel, driven by the emotion that relatable storytelling evokes.
Currently, Cedric is performing for hire at various events in Boston, and continuing to showcase his immense talent to all of Massachusetts. He is expected to make his move to Los Angeles or Atlanta in the next year
